The Compiler Settings File (.csf) is an ASCII file that stores the chip definitions for a Quartus^® II project, the default device options, the compilation focus, the type of compilation to perform, the device family and device to use, and other options.

A CSF can contain some or all of the sections listed below. Sections are listed in the order in which they are normally used by the Quartus II software.

• SIGNALTAP_LOGIC_ANALYZER_SETTINGS
• DEFAULT_DEVICE_OPTIONS
• CHIP(<name of Compiler setting>)
• COMPILER_SETTINGS
