The EPF10K30E, a member of the FLEX 10K® device family, provides 1,968 registers, 24,576 memory bits, and 30,000 typical gates. These elements make the EPF10K30E suitable for complex logic functions and memory functions such as digital signal processing, wide data-path manipulation, data transformation, and microcontrollers, as required in high-performance communications applications. The EPF10K30E contains an embedded array to implement memory functions, a logic array to implement general logic functions, and a high pin count to enable an effective interface with system components. You can integrate entire systems, including 32-bit buses, into a single EPF10K30E device. The EPF10K30E meets the low power and voltage requirements of 2.5-V applications ranging from notebook computers to battery-operated, hand-held equipment.
The EPF10K30E is available in 144-pin TQFP packages with 96 I/O pins, 208-pin PQFP packages with 141 I/O pins, 256-pin FineLine BGA® packages with 170 I/O pins, and 484-pin FineLine BGA packages with 214 I/O pins. The EPF10K30E has 1,728 logic cells grouped into 216 LABs, which are arranged into six rows and 36 columns. The embedded array consists of a series of Embedded Array Blocks (EAB), each of which provides 4,096 bits that can be used to create RAM or ROM, or to contribute 100 to 600 gates toward combinatorial logic functions.
Each I/O cell contains a bidirectional I/O buffer and a flipflop that can be used as either an input or output register. The EPF10K30E also contains six dedicated fast inputs for synchronous control signals with large fan-outs. When used as outputs, the I/O registers provide fast clock-to-output times; as inputs, they provide quick setup times. In addition, devices with the suffix "X," such as EPF10K30ETC144-1X devices, include built-in ClockLock® phase-locked loop circuitry. The EPF10K30E also supports ICR and JTAG BST. The EPF10K30E JTAG Instruction Register length is 10; the Boundary-Scan Register length is 690; and the JTAG ID code is 110300DD.
