Can't recognize silicon ID for device <number>

CAUSE:

You clicked Start in the Programmer window, but the Programmer cannot recognize the silicon ID from the specified device. As a result, programming was unsuccessful. The problem can be caused by the following conditions:

  • Communications cable(s) not securely connected

  • Incorrect device selected

  • No power to target system

  • Device pins connected incorrectly

  • Driving the flash interface pins with another device

ACTION: Make sure all cables are securely connected, select a different device, or check the power on the target system. If you are using an enhanced configuration device, make sure that the device pins are connected correctly, and that the flash interface pins of the enhanced configuration device are not being driven by another device.
