Quartus

Line <number> of Cross-Reference File <name> contains a duplicate design name, which is illegal

CAUSE: The Quartus II software cannot read the specfied Cross-Reference File (.xrf) when you use the Locate to Design File command to locate a node or entity, because the XRF contains a duplicate design name at the specified line. Each design must have a unique name. This error may occur because the EDA synthesis tool output file contains an error, or the Quartus II software does not support the EDA synthesis tool you are using. You cannot correct the XRF syntax.
ACTION: Contact Altera Applications or the EDA tool vendor support for assistance.
