Do you want the Quartus II software to automatically check for product updates and new Quartus II information at startup? Altera recommends that you check for updates and new Quartus II information. If you are running the Quartus II software on a UNIX or Linux workstation, you must specify your web browser's location. You can turn the software update and information options on or off at any time on the Internet Connectivity page of the Options dialog box.

CAUSE: The Quartus II software is asking whether you want to automatically check the Downloads section of the Altera web site for product updates or the Design Software section for new Quartus II information whenever you start the program. Altera strongly recommends turning on the update and information options if you have Internet access to ensure that you are notified of software patches and updates, and other product information, as soon as it becomes available.
ACTION: Click Yes if you want the Quartus II software to check the Altera web site for updates and new information at startup. Click No if you do not want the Quartus II software to check the web site.
NOTE: You can also turn on or off the Check the Altera web site for updates at startup, Check the Altera web site for new Quartus II information, and Confirm before connecting to web options on the Internet Connectivity tab of the Options dialog box. You can also choose Altera on the Web > Download Quartus II Updates to check the Altera web site for updates at any time. You can choose Altera on the Web > New Quartus II Information to check the Altera web site for new information at any time.
