July 24, 1999: What happened to the "Altera FreeCore Library"?
It's still here - but you will only find a "frozen" version of it. Since I'm now working as a Field Application Engineer with Xilinx - I can no longer actively support Altera. Sorry. The "Altera FreeCore Library" can be found here

For new designs - I recommend these architectures:
9500xl.gif (6033 bytes) spartan.gif (4401 bytes) virtex.gif (3030 bytes)
